The Community Living Exchange is a joint effort of Rutgers Center for State Health Policy (CSHP) and the National Academy for State Health Policy (NASHP). Funded by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) through grants awarded under the Systems Change Community Living Initiative launched in September 2001, the Exchange is a vital hub of information sharing, training and technical assistance for more than 187 recipients of Systems Change Grants for Community Living.

Project L/EARN aims to increase the number of minority students in the fields of mental health, health and health policy research, thereby expanding the breadth of health research to include a broader range of ethnic and cultural issues, concerns and perspectives. CSHP is a training site for Project L/EARN.
